I paint from observation, but my interest lies in what happens when a painting begins to move beyond what is seen. Working from landscapes, architecture, and everyday surroundings, I use them as a point of departure rather than a destination.
My practice is increasingly driven by the material language of paint—the interplay of color, shape, texture, and gesture—and by the tension between representation and abstraction. Through an intuitive process of layering, editing, and responding, I look for paintings that feel discovered rather than constructed.
